War Boots for A Tattered Page

War shoes template- ATP EXC

Gunsmoke trailing after each step, bullets clicking rhythmically against each other, the glare of the sun reflecting from the skull… War is marching into town and she is extremely happy. There’s no reason to run, no reason to panic, the end result will be the same no matter what you do. War is coming to town, and she has only working holidays.

The War Boots were created for A Tattered Page, for its round focusing on Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.

The inspiration for the boots is based on the following citation within the story, describing War enjoying herself:

“Carmine Zuigiber turned and stared at the bodies surrounding her as if she hadn’t the faintest idea of how they came to be there. She licked a spatter of blood — someone else’s — from the back of her hand with a scarlet, cat-like tongue. Then she smiled.

And she walked out of the bar, her heels clicking on the tiles like the tapping of distant hammers.”

The boots are designed for Slink’s high feet. The Slink feet are not included.

The event exclusive red version includes two pairs: one with shine and one without. The difference in effect goes from beaten up war boots to smoother suede.

There’s also the regular release with the usual colour-change HUD: 10 shoe colors, 10 gem colors, 3 skull colors, 2 bullet colors, 2 trim colors and 3 chain colors. This gives you an amazing amount of customization options and creates practically a fatpack of shoes at the price of one!

The boots are unrigged mesh and modifiable so you can reposition and resize them as you wish, but please try the demo. Note that the colour-change HUD shoes will appear no-mod in inventory due to the colour-change script, but they are perfectly modifiable.

Permissions are M/C/NT. Event exclusive boots L95, colour-change HUD boots L395.

Usher II for A Tattered Page

usher gown poster II

The liberation from the strict confines of realism, the celebration of imagination, of fairytales, of the monsters under your bed and in your closet, the indulgence in beauty and fantasy, the triumphant declaration that humankind is more than rules and logic: that is Usher II. A scheme set in motion to achieve all of that, played out in the very last gothic manor built to honor Poe, a vengeance most dreadfully delightful.

Usher II dress and mask were created for A Tattered Page, for its round focusing on The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury. If this wasn’t the kind of offering you were expecting from a book set on Mars, read on.

The Martian Chronicles is a series of stories, tied together by a central arc. One of them, entitled Usher II, is a story of dark and gothic revenge against those who would seek to rid the world of all things less than cheerful.

Our designs for this round of A Tattered Page are based on the following quote within the story:

“The House blazed with life and color; harlequins rang by with belled caps and white mice danced miniature quadrilles to the music of dwarfs who tickled tiny fiddles with tiny bows, and flags rippled from scorched beams while bats flew in clouds about gargoyle mouths which spouted down wine, cool, wild and foaming. A creek wandered through the seven rooms of the masked ball. Guests sipped and found it to be sherry. Guests poured from the booths, transformed from one age into another, their faces covered with dominoes, the very act of putting on a mask revoking all their licenses to pick a quarrel with fantasy and horror. The women swept about in red gowns, laughing. The men danced them attendance. And on the walls were shadows with no people to throw them, and here or there were mirrors in which no image showed. “All of us vampires!” laughed Mr. Fletcher. “Dead!:

We hope you enjoy the dark masquerade, and the reminder that the dark ones are everywhere. Even on Mars.

The dress is a rigged mesh item that moves with your avatar. It comes in seven sizes: in addition to the five standard sizes there are also two extra ones: XS+ that provides more generous curves in the top part of base XS and M+ that has more muscles and extra curves than base M. Please try the demo.

The mask is unrigged mesh for easy resizing and positioning and it has a holding animation.

Both the dress and the mask have a colour-change HUD that has three colours for both metals and bone and twelve fabric colours for the dress and mask.

The items will appear no-mod in inventory because of the scripts involved, but they are still modifiable.

Permissions are M/C/NT. The dress L395, mask L195.

Justine for A Tattered Page

poster_justine dress

“Justine shook her head mournfully. “I do not fear to die,” she said; “that pang is past. I leave a sad and bitter world; and if you remember me, and think of me as of one unjustly condemned, I am resigned to the fate awaiting me.” – Frankenstein, chapter 8

Justine consists of three separate pieces forming a complete look of dignified sadness: a dress, hair and a tattoo layer of tears. It’s designed for A Tattered Page, an in-store event that focuses in a book at a time. This round is concentrated on Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Justine — the young maid who is well beloved in Frankenstein’s family — is framed to appear as the murderer of William, Frankenstein’s youngest brother and the creature’s first victim. Despite the attempts to clear her name she is sentenced to death, thus being an indirect second victim of the creature.

“The appearance of Justine was calm. She was dressed in mourning; and her countenance, always engaging, was rendered, by the solemnity of her feelings, exquisitely beautiful. Yet she appeared confident in innocence, and did not tremble, although gazed on and execrated by thousands; for all the kindness which her beauty might otherwise have excited, was obliterated in the minds of the spectators by the imagination of the enormity she was supposed to have committed. She was tranquil, yet her tranquillity was evidently constrained; and as her confusion had before been adduced as a proof of her guilt, she worked up her mind to an appearance of courage. When she entered the court, she threw her eyes round it, and quickly discovered where we were seated. A tear seemed to dim her eye when she saw us; but she quickly recovered herself, and a look of sorrowful affection seemed to attest her utter guiltlessness.” – Frankenstein, chapter 8

Both the dress and the hair come with colour change HUDs: the dress has an outer dress and underdress linked together, both have a HUD of eight colours and can be worn separately. The hair has a colour change HUD of 15 colours, covering all the natural tones. The tears makeup has streaked cheeks, red nose and undereye shadows.

The dress is rigged mesh and moves with your avatar. It comes in the five standard sizes and the fitmesh version. The hair is unrigged mesh and therefore resizeable as you wish. The makeup is one tattoo layer. Please try the demos before purchasing.

All three are exclusive to the event and won’t be sold with these colourways anymore after the event, so if you like them, you better get them while you still can!

Permissions are M/C/NT. The dress L295, hair L195, tears L95.
